Humidifier for Upright Bass

If you're after one of those rubber thingies to hang in your bass to keep up the humidity, well here it is. It's a good quality unit, a perforated latex tube with a sponge material inside, with a disk on the end to keep it from falling into the bass.

Easy-peasy: you simply soak it in water, squeeze out the excess, wipe it off, and hang it inside though a f-hole. It's important to note that, for these to be effective, your bass needs to be inside its case - or else the humidity is just dissipating into the room and floating away...

But the question is... do you really need one? If you have a laminated (plywood) bass, probably not. Carved or hybrid (carved top), maybe.

The soft, flexible tubing is just under ½” in diameter.

We have two different brands to choose from. The original "Dampit" brand humidifier is green, and includes a removable slip-on widening washer to accommodate hanging it inside the f-hole. The plain beige-colored model is the "Humitron" from RDM, and its widened end cap is not removable (it doesn't need to be.) They are both 100% functional and do the same job equally well.
