You'll find lots of Kays with that cool metal logo tailpiece. Now you can brand your Engelhardt (contemporary Kay) with this custom tailpiece emblem! This polished stainless steel piece adds an attractive accent to your Engelhardt bass, and it's easily installed. You don't even need to remove the tailpiece if you don't want to (and you are careful).
Kay used a variety of logotypes on their tailpieces over time, but the metal logo outshined them all. When I got my Kay in 1966 it didn't even have a tailpiece, and I later paid big bucks on eBay to buy one with the Kay emblem. Now you can add the Engelhardt logo to your existing tailpiece to reflect the Kay legacy of your Engelhardt bass. Messrs. Engelhardt and Link purchased the Kay factory in 1970, and contemporary Kays are built in Illinois to this day.
This high-quality emblem is made of stout T316 .055 inch polished stainless steel and is about 2½ inches long. There are two metal posts on the back for mounting, and instructions are included.
TAILPIECE NOT INCLUDED, the photo shows an example of the reissue emblem installed on a typical bass tailpiece.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED! We've written up detailed instructions to help you install the badge on your bass' tailpiece. In addition to photos we include a cut-out template so you can test-fit the badge to find the location that you prefer, and then accurately drill the two tiny holes to mount it. You'll need a drill to create the holes for the shafts and a pair of long-nosed pliers to aid in making slight bends so it matches the contour of your bass tailpiece - as well as bend the shafts so it stays in place.
The Kay image is shown here to show the same metal shafts that are on the Engelhardt emblem.

BASSES- PARTS, GLOSSARY of Upright Bass terms
Here is what some of our customers think about this product:

To whom it may concern; I have just installed the carbon fiber endpin in my 1948 C-1 model Kay bass. The oversize of the taper was perfect to restore the hole. The Kay logo looks much better than the touch-up job I did on the badly worn original logo. First rate products and service. thanks...
