Pirastro ObligatoPirastro "The Jazzer":
The Jazzer ropecore steel strings are recommended by Pirastro for pizzicato players, though they can also be a good hybrid string for players who gig many styles. I've not had the opportunity to play a set in quite a while, so I'll pass on their comments:
  • for the Jazz musician
  • clear, powerful sound
  • big tonal volume
  • unexceeded ability of modulation
  • long sustain
They offer them in 3/4 size and at one gauge only, Medium. Color codes are as follows: (headstock/tailpiece) High C=violet/rose, G=brown/red, D=red/blue, A=black/green, E=green/orange, Low B=yellow/d'red, Extended E=green/orange.
