These are the original flatwound string set that is installed on stock NS Design WAV4 basses. Their shorter length is designed for mounting on the NS Design basses, without the additional afterlength of regular upright bass strings.

Please note that the NS Design EU, CR4/5, and WAV4 basses are designed to accommodate full (3/4) size upright bass strings, using the wrap-around bottom surface and keyhole string anchor slots on the back of the instrument - so if these stock strings aren't your cup of tea, you're not married to them!
