Engelhardt Replacement Double Bass Fingerboards

The fingerboards on this page are sized and shaped to fit Kay and Engelhardt basses, or may be modified for other instruments or projects. They are unfinished and will require "finish-sanding." Measurements are provided in the photos.



These Brazilian Cherry fingerboards are made by Engelhardt for their 3/4 size EM1 basses. A nut block is included at no additional charge. The grain of the fingerboards varies from board to board. They very nicely complement the tailpieces I also carry.



The Ebony fingerboards are the ones Engelhardt uses for their 3/4 size ES-line basses. An ebony nut is included at no additional charge. The ebony boards are not pure black (too expensive!!), but have a dark brown grain running through them; black dye can be used, if wanted, to "blacken" them up - but they are quite attractive unfinished. They very nicely complement the ebony tailpieces I also carry.

There is no Romberg Bevel ("E" bevel, an optional flat area under the E string you'll find on some basses) on either fingerboard.
