These beautiful ebony tailpieces are a worthy upgrade or replacement for any upright bass. They have a uniform black color and are finished and ready for installation; no sanding or staining should be required. They have pre-drilled, vertically oriented tailgut mounting holes, allowing you to use virtually any conventional rear-mounted tailpiece cable you choose - both a nylon tailgut and stranded steel tailgut will work, as well as the more advanced adjustable steel or kevlar options.

Tailgut in photo is to show where the mounting holes are - it is not included. Please see the related items (below) for several tailpiece cable options.

A representative tailpiece weighed approximately 10.3 oz/ 292 grams when weighed from our stock, August 2009. Note that weights may vary slightly from tailpiece to tailpiece.
