Jatoba Upright Bass Tailpiece

These Jatoba tailpieces are made by Engelhardt for their EM-1 model 3/4 size basses (see my Engelhardt Page for details). It will be appropriate for 3/4 size basses. Measurements are provided in the photos.

These replace the previously made Rosewood Tailpieces, as instrument-quality rosewood is endangered and no longer available. They are supplied unfinished, but adding a finish provides a look that is quite similar to rosewood, and the jatoba wood has very similar density and wear properties to rosewood.

Please note that this tailpiece is not compatible with our synthetic tailpiece cable (but will work with the stranded steel one).
