Thomastik
Since 1919, when two former officers of the Austrian monarchy, violin maker, Dr. Franz Thomastik, and civil engineering specialist, Otto Infeld, decided to collaborate on a new, steel string (which would be a revolution, compared to the gut strings which were the state of the art at the time). They now have over 80 years of creating strings in the heart of Vienna.
